What Your Dancer Will Need for Dance Class:

Proper attire for class must be followed. Students not dressed appropriately for class will be asked to sit and observe the lesson. We do require that dance shoes be purchased through Drouin Dance Center for proper quality and class instruction. Adult Classes, see bottom of list. All Dance Shoes and Class Attire will be available for purchase at DDC during our Shoe Nights in August and September- please see us for the schedule and to register for an appointment.

All dancers, in all classes, may bring a water bottle (labeled with name) into class with them. Please label all dance shoes with name once they are purchased and fit properly.

Students that choose not to identify with a gender may choose their attire as recommended below.

Tiny Movers & Music Movement & Play Classes:

Please wear comfortable clothing (ie, tshirt and shorts or leggings) and have bare feet.

Creative Movement 1 & 2 Classes:

Girls Attire:
Girls: Leotard in any color/style. Tights in any color/style. Dance skirts are optional. Hair in a ponytail or bun, short hair held away from face with a headband. No jewelry, please.

Girls Shoes:

Boys Attire:
Fitted shorts or pants in any color/style, with properly fit tshirt in a solid color.

Ballet 1 through Advanced Ballet/Pointe Classes:

For ballet classes, we are very strict about dress code. Dancers not following the dress code below will be asked to sit and observe class.

Girls Attire:
Girls: Black leotard in any style, NO prints or designs. NO skirts or shorts attached.
Tights in light ballet pink. Hair secured in a proper bun, no bangs, no wispys, short hair held away from face with a headband. Instructors will teach dancers how to put their hair in a bun for class. No jewelry, please.

Girls Shoes:

Boys Attire:
Fitted tank top or short sleeved shirt with fitted bike shorts or long/almost knee length shorts.

Irish Step Dance Classes, Levels 1 through Advanced:

Girls Attire:
Leotard in any color/style. Tights in any color/style. Dance skirts or fitted dance shorts are optional. Hair in a ponytail or bun, short hair held away from face with a headband. No jewelry, please.

Boys Attire:
Fitted Black shorts or pants, with properly fit white tshirt with no prints.

Shoes:
Black Irish Ghillie Style shoes. All students will be measured for these special order shoes at the first class.
Shoes are NOT available at our Shoe Nights.
Price per pair, with Maine State Sales Tax, is approx. $65.

Hip Hop Classes, Levels 1 through Advanced:

Attire:
Comfortable, loose clothing that your dancer can easily move in. Girls may wear a leotard until their clothing or as their clothing for classwork to be full covered when doing various inverted skills. Hair in a ponytail or bun, short hair held away from face with a headband. No jewelry, please.

Shoes:
Black/White Hip Hop Dance Sneakers- purchased through Drouin Dance Center.Adult Classes:
Comfortable, loose clothing that you can easily move in. For shoes, see above class requirements.
